Various reasons Symbian dominates this market are - Symbian is promoted by all the top tier 1 handset vendors and together they control almost 80% of the mobile handset market. 2. Linux - 13.3% market share 3.Windows Mobile - 6.1%. The latest coup is one of the original promters of Symbian has announced a new phone series based on Windows Mobile.(please read the other post SEMC announcing Windows Mobile based Xperia) 4.RIM Blackberry - 5.3% 5.Palm OS- 1.6% 6.OS X - 1.3%. With the stupendous success of iPhone Apple supported has upped its ante against other MOSes and gained some market share. Few new entrants are 1. Google promoted Android 2.
